Hair loss in men:

Male pattern baldness is the most common type of hair loss, and is hereditary. Hair follicles from the front part of the scalp to the crown or vertex of the head, are most susceptible to loss due to the effects of the build up of the male hormone - Testosterone.

Hair loss can begin as early as in the late teens or early twenties, when testosterone levels are at their peak. Effected hair follicles gradually become finer, grow more slowly and eventually go into a terminal resting phase, leaving either fine (baby) hair or total hair loss in the effected areas.

Most men who have this type of hair loss do not realize that the hair on the back and sides of your head are genetically programmed to grow for the rest of your life.

The human head has approximately 100,000 hairs and normally loses in the range of 20-100 hairs per day. There are three phases to hair regeneration of the life cycle of a hair follicle.

1. Anagenic Phase; 2. Catagenic Phase; and 3. Telegenic Phase

Hair loss in women:

Women experience hair loss also. It can effect her self-esteem and outlook on her beauty. Stress can effect hair loss in women after three to six months after giving birth, then later after menopause. Diet, nutrition, stress (emotional and physical), hormonal and heredity can impact hair loss.

Both of us truly understand the self-conscience effects of hair loss, balding and alopecia. One is using this treatment for male pattern balding with results. The other a female is using the treatment for thinning hair due to thyroid and chemo effects.
